The ELITE PI-135 Basic ATD is a fully procedural system, which can be used for complete startup, flight, and shutdown procedures. You can even use the PI-135 to perform the approaches, holding procedures, and intercepting/tracking required under section 61.57(c)(1) for recent instrument experience.
The PI-135 is equipped with a Garmin GNS 430W GPS system and you can learn about GPS approaches, and how to program and operate the GNS 430W. Aircraft types are the Cessna 172, Cessna 182, Piper Archer, Piper Seneca, Beech Baron, Beecn Bonanza, TB10, TB20 and Mooney non-EFIS/glass.
The trainer is categorized as an FAA CERTIFIED Basic ATD with flying credits of 2.5 hours toward Private rating, 10 hours toward Instrument rating and maintaining instrument currency.
It is also great for introducing non-instrument students to basic aircraft operating procedures.
Should a pilot logbook entry be required to document traiining or currency, an FAA certified ground instructor must be present during all phases of training and endorse the logbook. Instruction with a ground instructor is available at competitive rates.
