There have been numerous requests and emails regarding meeting dates and times. It has been decided at the October general meeting that chapter meetings will now occur on the second Saturday of the month at 9:00am. Following a short 15-20 minute meeting we will fly out to one of our local airports for brunch and more hangar flying. The meeting location will remain the same.
Our next meeing is Saturday, April 9th following our Young Eagles Flight Rally.

On a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon, EAA Chapter 1496, Orlando Gateway Sport Aviation Training Center, Kissimmee-Gateway Airport and many volunteers flew 55 new Young Eagles! The Young Eagles enjoyed hot dogs, chips, drinks and met many find folks from the Orlando Flyers remote control aircraft club, Balloons over Orlando, two static display aircraft and a youth activity table.

A few of us are planning to attend AirVenture 2010 Oshkosh (www.airventure.org) July 26-August 1. Some members are staying in hotels, dorms and camping out. Stephen will be camping out in his RV at the 101 woods July 24 - 30. EAA Chapter 1496 and Orlando Gateway Sport Aviation flew 48 new Young Eagles and gave several demonstration flights to people interested in learning to fly.
Guests enjoyed hot dogs with all the trimmings, soft drinks, and of course all the free "stuff" courtesty of AOPA and EAA.
We look forward to next year's International Learn to Fly day!
